Communion bread doesn’t bake itself!

There are many acts of service at Mountain View Lutheran Church that go unrecognized. But it is a good thing for us to stop on occasion and wonder how certain things happen in our life together and who makes them happen.
In the case of communion bread, members of the Altar Guild (and whomever wants to help them) gather every so often to bake communion bread at the church. On the days that bread is baked, the Life Together Hall, Church Offices, and Sanctuary are filled with the smell of the body of Christ being baked into being and the sight of the body of Christ being enfleshed in those who gather to bake. And not only is this an act of service, but it is also a time of fellowship, conversation, and being present to one another.

Thanks be to God!
